  DO NOT USE SIERRA PACIFIC MORTGAGE!! Here's my story, Our mortgage broker locked us in with Sierra Pacific Mortgage at a rate when it was low. Keep in mind that rates have jumped up 3/4% now. We got approved for the mortgage, the paper work was completed by the bank and we just needed a scheduled day to close. The women from Sierra Pacific, who was working with our broker, kept delaying the closing date. It was always "this day for sure". Well it finally came to where the 30 day lock was going to expire. The mortgage broker (she is awesome), tried really hard to close and made every effort to do so above and beyond what she should have. Thank You to her. She called the president of her company and he called the president of Sierra Pacific to find out what was going on. Sierra Pacific said we will definitely close within the week and will honor the rate since it is past the 30 day lock and this was there fault and apologized. They said they will call back with the exact time and day. The women for Sierra Pacific called back and said sorry, we will not honor the rate. The president of Sierra Pacific is now not returning our mortgage broker calls. My broker and her company (which is a known firm) has dropped all working's with this Sierra Pacific Mortgage as she and her company are out money for the credit checks that had to be down, appraisals, and whatever else they had to pay for. This story does have a happy ending as our broker found another bank that will honor us that rate. I just thought this was very unprofessional and wanted my story to be told about Sierra Pacific Mortgage and there professionlism that the president is going by which is obviously none.
